According to the Old Javanese linguist, the term of “jamu” came from the two ancient Javanese word abbreviations namely “Djampi” and “Oesodo”. Djampi means healing using medicinal herbs or prayers and ajian-ajian. The term of “jamu” was introduced to the public by a traditional “healer” or in Indonesian language called tabib or dukun. Jamu is part of an integrated system of inner and outer health and beauty.
Jamu represents an ancient, centuries-old Indonesian herbal medicine tradition that uses specific natural ingredients to treat skin and health issues. In Indonesia today, even with the prevalence of Western medicine, the government still recognizes Jamu as a medical practice with its own set of FDA regulations.
Jamu is known to increase immunity, detoxify your gut, and replenish your body with antioxidants, helping to give you a natural boost.
